Human bites March 2018 | by EMauthor •These can cause serious infections if not properly treated •Clean the wound thoroughly and irrigate the wound with saline •Debride the wound edges and remove any devitalised tissues •Leave wound open and cover lightly with betadine and jelonet, review after 3 days for delayed suture •Ensure patient is covered for tetanus •Antibiotics should be given to all human bites, co-amoxiclav •Council the patient about possibility of Hep B infection |
