Referral of Pregnant Patients to the Maternity Unit March 2018 | by EMauthor It has been agreed that pregnant women between 12 weeks pregnant and 4 weeks postpartum should be reviewed by a qualified midwife or gynaecology/obstetric doctor when they present with the following conditions •Pregnancy of more than 20 weeks and 4 weeks postpartum presenting with oVaginal bleeding or discharge or other vaginal symptoms oAcute abdominal pain oHypertension oConvulsion oSudden onset of psychiatric symptoms oSymptoms of diabetes •Any pregnant women of more than 12 weeks following RTA •Any pregnant women admitted with alcohol or drug related problems •Any pregnant women with possible non-accidental injury |
