Baker's cyst rupture

March 2018 | by EMauthor

Baker’s cyst results from herniation of the synovial membrane into the Popliteal fossa in patients with arthritic knees

When it ruptures it causes knee/calf pain with calf tenderness. This can mimic DVT

History of previous swelling in the Popliteal fossa should be an indication

If in doubt treat as suspected DVT
