Arc eye (UV keratitis) March 2018 | by EMauthor •Suggested by history (welding flash or sun beds) •Present with pain, photophobia, watering and decreased visual acuity, usually bilaterally •Examination reveals conjunctival injection, punctate corneal epithelial loss Treatment •Same as corneal abrasion •Chloramphenicol eye cream •Eye padding, usually the more severely affected side •Cycloplegic eye drops (cyclopentolate 1% 6 hourly for 24 hours) will control ciliary spasm and reduce pain |
