Blade of scapula


•High impact injury, check for other injuries especially chest injuries

•The clinical sign will be a swelling confined to the scapular border

•Treat with broad arm sling

•Analgesia

•Fracture clinic follow up


Neck of scapula


•Broad arm sling

•Analgesia

•Fracture clinic follow up


Coracoid and scapular spine fractures


•May require surgery, discuss with orthopaedic SHO

•Otherwise treat with broad arm sling, analgesia and fracture clinic follow up
