Trapped medial epicondyle March 2018 | by EMauthor The medial epicondyle may be avulsed by forced abduction or sudden contraction of the forearm flexors. Sometimes it may separate completely and trapped inside the elbow joint. No fracture will be obvious but the tip to diagnose it is to check if the epiphysis should be there.
A useful mnemonic for the sequence of appearance of the epiphysis around the elbow is •C Capitulum •R Radial head •I Internal (medial epicondyle) •T Trochlea •O Olecranon •L Lateral epicondyle |
